Meta hires and fires AI workers: Behind the contradiction

trategic Shift in AI: Meta’s decision shows that big hiring sprees don’t ensure success. Companies are cutting back where they see overlap or low returns.
Key Points :
Talent Wars & Focus: Meta has recruited top researchers. The restructuring shows we must organise and use talent well, not just hire more staff.
Workforce Implications: For AI professionals, this serves as a warning. Even in growth areas, job security relies on alignment with key strategic units.
Industry Signal: Meta’s shift could indicate a wider trend. AI firms are moving from broad expansion to focused execution.

Why do ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude forget your chats?

If you’ve talked to ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Claude and felt the bot “forgot” something, you’re not imagining it. A recent article from Indian Express points out the key issue: the context window. This is a limit in large language models (LLMs).
Key Points :
When you message the model, the conversation splits into tokens—small text units. Each model can only “see” a certain number of tokens at once. This limit is its context window.
Once you exceed that limit during long chats, older parts of the conversation drop from the model’s “view.” This is why it seems like it forgets earlier statements.
You can expand the context window, but it costs a lot in computation, memory, and speed. The article says that larger windows can help, but they may slow down responses or lower accuracy.
Some models also choose not to keep memory or only do so in special features. For instance, Claude offers an option for users. So, forgetting chats stems from design choices, not just technical limits.
Trump sanctions Russian oil as West raises pressure on Putin to end war in Ukraine

The European Council and the 27 EU members adopted a 19th sanctions package. This focuses on Russia's energy, finance, and trade sectors. The aim is to pressure Moscow about the war in Ukraine.
Key Points :
The Trump administration placed new sanctions on Russia's oil firms, Rosneft and Lukoil. Russia responded strongly, calling the move “extremely counterproductive.”
In Ukraine, Russian drones and missiles are still targeting energy infrastructure and civilians. The number of aerial strikes has increased in recent weeks.
Diplomatically, EU leaders, including Volodymyr Zelenskyy, met in Brussels. They organised support for Ukraine and talked about using frozen Russian assets. These assets are worth about €140 billion and could help provide aid.
