AI NEWS TODAY

Sex is a big market for the AI industry. ChatGPT won’t be the first to try to profit from it

The AI industry is increasingly looking at mature content as a new way to make money. Here’s what’s happening, based on a report from the Indian Express and AP:

OpenAI's Policy Change: CEO Sam Altman announced that ChatGPT will soon allow “erotica for verified adults.” This is a big change from the previous ban on mature content.

A Market Already in Motion: This move isn’t new. Many AI platforms have used adult content since the AI boom began in 2022.

Revenue Pressures at Play: OpenAI’s subscription model hasn’t made enough profit. Adding adult features could help them earn money faster.

Key Points :

  • Legal and Ethical Issues: Early users of mature AI content dealt with lawsuits, rules, and complaints about misuse. This was especially true for cases involving minors and non-consensual content.

  • Psychological & Social Concerns: Researchers warn that having constant sexual or romantic AI companions could hurt real human relationships. This is especially true for vulnerable individuals.

  • Safeguards & Challenges: Altman aims to provide “more user freedom for adults.” He also wants age controls and safeguards for minors.

Google DeepMind’s new AI model just cracked a major cancer mystery

Google DeepMind and Yale University have teamed up to create a new model named C2S-Scale 27B. This foundation model, with 27 billion parameters, is built on the Gemma framework. It has made major strides in cancer research.

Key points:

  • The model “understands the language of individual cells.” It generated a new hypothesis about how cancer cells interact with the immune system. This hypothesis was later tested and confirmed in living human cells.

  • It used a dual-context virtual screen to analyse over 4,000 drugs across tumour and cell datasets. It discovered compounds that can enhance antigen presentation. This helps the immune system spot tumours. The model showed that the drug CX-4945 (silmitasertib) could boost antigen presentation by around 50% in some cases.

  • This breakthrough shows that the model analysed biological data. It also reasoned how cellular conditions impact treatment success.

  • Google says this changes drug discovery from trial-and-error to insights from AI and virtual lab tests.

Trump says both Ukraine and Russia should declare victory after meeting with Zelenskyy: "Let history decide!"

President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on 17 October 2025. This was a day after he spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Key points:

  • Trump said Ukraine and Russia should both declare victory and “let history decide.”

  • The meeting didn’t cover long-range weapons like Tomahawk missiles. This was because of worries about escalation.

  • Trump mentioned that the U.S. still needs Tomahawks for its own defense and did not commit to sending them.

  • Zelenskyy suggested trading Ukrainian drones for missile support. Trump was open to this idea.

  • Trump confirmed he had a meaningful call with Putin and plans to meet him in Budapest.

  • He expressed confidence in persuading Putin towards peace.

  • Zelenskyy praised Trump for helping with Middle East peace. However, he pointed out that Putin still won’t end the war.
