Airspace closed and flights canceled across the Mideast amid U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran

Several Middle Eastern countries have closed their airspace. This includes Israel. It also includes the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Some areas of Syria are included too. The closures come after the US and Israel coordinated strikes on Iran early Saturday.

• Iran has also shut down its airspace, barring civilian flights until further notice.

• These actions caused major airlines to cancel flights. They also diverted or suspended flights in the region and beyond.

• 🛫 Major Airlines Affected

• Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines have stopped flights. They are no longer flying to or from Gulf hubs like Dubai and Doha.

• United Airlines cancelled U.S.–Dubai and U.S.–Tel Aviv flights for the weekend and provided travel waivers.

• Turkish Airlines has cancelled flights to several Middle Eastern destinations. This will last until early March. The reason is airspace closures.

• European airlines, like British Airways and Lufthansa, have stopped flights. Air France and Virgin Atlantic have changed theirs too. They want to avoid conflict zones.

• Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport have halted operations indefinitely.

• Grounded flights and diversions are widespread, leaving many travellers stranded or turned back.

Nvidia Earnings Call: Nvidia's AI Chips in Space and Sovereign AI's 300%-Plus Annual Growth

Record revenue: Nvidia reported $68.1 billion in Q4 revenue. This is up ~73% year-over-year and beats analyst expectations.

Profit beat: Adjusted EPS of $1.62 also exceeded expectations.

Nvidia expects around $78 billion in revenue for Q1 of fiscal 2027. This is much higher than what Wall Street predicted.

What Management Said on the Earnings Call

CEO Jensen Huang:

Huang noted Nvidia is at a major turning point in AI, particularly with “agentic AI.” This new generation of autonomous AI systems boosts demand for computing power. He also noted that enterprise use of AI infrastructure is “skyrocketing.” This shows there is strong demand.

CFO Colette Kress: 

Kress mentioned that revenue from sovereign AI has tripled each year. Sovereign AI refers to AI systems for governments. This shows a diverse demand. Free cash flow and gross margins were robust, reflecting strong profitability.

Nvidia’s leadership shared a very positive outlook on long-term AI infrastructure demand. This isn’t just a one-time earnings boost.
