ChatGPT’s user growth has slowed, report finds
Market-intelligence firm Sensor Tower reports that ChatGPT's global monthly active users (MAU) grew at a slower pace from August to November 2025. It rose by only 6% during that time, reaching about 810 million MAUs.
Key Points:
In contrast, competitor Gemini (by Google) experienced ~30% growth in its monthly active users. It also surpassed ChatGPT in both download growth and time spent in the app.
Other evidence supports this. Mobile-app analytics from Apptopia showed that downloads of ChatGPT’s app had been declining since around April 2025. In some months, downloads even fell.
Google Photos’ 2025 Recap turns to Gemini to find your highlights
Google has launched the 2025 Recap feature for Google Photos. It’s like a “Spotify Wrapped” but for your photos. This year, it puts together a highlight reel. It shows your best photos and videos. It includes fun graphics, stats, and content you can share.
Key Points:
Unique to U.S. users with Gemini-enabled Photos, the AI scans your archive. It spots patterns and highlights your “top moments.” These include your hobbies, the people you photographed most, and memorable events.
Recap now includes new metrics. You can see total selfies, top people, and a complete photo-count summary.
You also have more control. You can hide specific people or photos, especially if there are memories you’d rather exclude. After that, you can regenerate your Recap.
You can easily share your Recap. Just tap to export it to a video editor like CapCut, or share it directly to apps like WhatsApp and social media. At the end, collages and short video carousels are auto-generated.

Meta acquires AI device startup Limitless
Meta has acquired the AI-wearables startup Limitless. They made a pendant that records conversations. It uses AI to transcribe and summarise them.
Key Points:
As part of the deal, Limitless is stopping sales of its pendant hardware.
Existing users will get support for at least a year. Subscription fees are waived during the transition.
Limitless’s team and its voice-recording technology will join Meta’s wearables efforts. They will work in the “Reality Labs” / AI-hardware division. This division also creates products like Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta smart glasses.
