YouTube Brings AI Likeness Detection To Journalists, Civic Leaders

YouTube is rolling out a tool called AI likeness detection. It helps journalists, politicians, and civic leaders find deepfake videos. These videos mimic their appearances or voices. It also aids in managing those videos.

Key Points :

  • How the tool works

  • The system scans videos for AI-generated content that uses a person’s face or likeness.

  • If it detects a match, the person can:

  • Review the video

  • Request YouTube to remove it if it violates privacy policies.

  • It works like Content ID. However, instead of finding copyrighted material, it spots AI-generated faces or impersonations.

  • Who can use it

  • Initially, the tool was for around 4 million creators in the YouTube Partner Program. Now, it's expanding to a pilot group that includes:

  • Journalists

  • Government officials

  • Political candidates

  • Other civic leaders involved in public discussions.

  • Participants must verify their identity (ID + video) before using the tool.

  • Detection doesn’t always mean removal

  • Even if the system detects a deepfake:

  • YouTube may not remove it automatically.

  • Content like parody, satire, or political criticism may still be allowed.

  • YouTube says it will review requests under its privacy and free-speech policies.

Someone just spent $236,000,000 on a painting. Here’s why it matters for your wallet.

The WSJ just reported the highest price ever paid for modern art at auction.

While equities, gold, bitcoin hover near highs, the art market is showing signs of early recovery after one of the longest downturns since the 1990s.

Here’s where it gets interesting→

Each investing environment is unique, but after the dot com crash, contemporary and post-war art grew ~24% a year for a decade, and after 2008, it grew ~11% annually for 12 years.*

Overall, the segment has outpaced the S&P by 15 percent with near-zero correlation from 1995 to 2025.

Now, Masterworks lets you invest in shares of artworks featuring legends like Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso. Since 2019, investors have deployed $1.25 billion across 500+ artworks.

Masterworks has sold 25 works with net annualized returns like 14.6%, 17.6%, and 17.8%.

Amazon expands a program that lets customers shop from other retailers’ sites

The program, called “Shop Direct,” helps customers find and buy products not sold by Amazon.

Now, instead of saying “not available,” Amazon can guide shoppers to another retailer's site. There, they can make a purchase.

Key Points :

  • AI helps complete the purchase

  • A key feature is the AI shopping agent.

  • Amazon’s AI fills in checkout details automatically, like address and payment.

  • Users only need to confirm the order information.

  • The AI then completes the purchase on the retailer’s website.

  • This makes the buying process feel similar to shopping on Amazon.

  • Orders still appear in Amazon

  • Even when items come from other stores:

  • Orders can be tracked on Amazon’s “Your Orders” page.

  • Some orders show up under “Buy for Me Orders.”

  • This way, customers don’t have to manage multiple sites.

  • 📱 Where the feature is available

  • The program is available for U.S. customers through:

  • Amazon.com website

  • Amazon mobile app

  • Amazon’s AI assistant Rufus.
